Iuka, Mississippi
  "Gateway to Mississippi"

Welcome to our Official home. Located near the borders of two states - Alabama and Tennessee, the city lies in the extreme northeast corner of the state in Tishomingo County.  Iuka and Tishomingo County are rich in heritage, rich in nature, rich in history and rich in recreation.
Iuka was named after a Chickasaw Indian Chief who
camped near the Mineral Springs to partake of the medicinal waters.  You can read more about Chief Iuka on our history page.
In the late 1870's many came to Iuka's springs to seek refuge since yellow fever has taken such heavy tolls everywhere.  Iuka eventually became a health resort, where resort hotels were built and the town thrived.
Iuka won national acclaim when, in 1904, Iuka's mineral springs water was awarded a gold medal and diploma for
the purest and best mineral water at the World's Fair in St. Louis.
